It is assumed that sand is poured on top of a horizontal elevated support to form a dune. At some point, no further quantity of sand changes the form of the dune, because all the additional sand slides on the side of the dune and falls outside of the support.
The work investigates the shape of the crest of the dune when this stable situation is reached. The equation of the crest is determined for various kinds of support bounded by segments and/or arcs of a circle.
